Lenmed lends support to public community clinic, 18 July 2018
Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre has begun some work on Mandela Day at Quarry Heights Clinic which is a local satellite public clinic in Newlands, on Mandela Day.
"Following our visit to Quarry Height Clinic, we recognized that this healthcare facility needed some urgent assistance. The Management team were out there on Mandela Day, hands-on to begin with the painting. There is other maintenance and support planned for in consultation with the Ethekwini Municipality Area and Clinic Sister," said Hospital Manager Niresh Bechan.
Another noteworthy project to be made mention of is The Children’s Cardiac Foundation of Africa, a non-profit organisation which aims to provide assistance to children with cardiac condition who cannot afford medical care. Thousands of children in KZN born with congenital heart defects cannot afford private health care and are also unable to get the necessary treatment due to a serious skill shortage. This foundation aims to provide some assistance.
